Robert organized our complete tour through Rwanda – from the itinerary (there is more to see than the Gorillas) to the booking of the hotels (he personally made sure that we got nice rooms) and the trips to see the Chimpanzees and Gorillas. He also was our (very safe) driver during the trip.
Thanks to his knowledge we saw a lot of things we would have missed otherwise and got a much better understanding of this fascinating country. The whole time we spent with him we felt very safe because he is an incredible reliable and friendly person. If you speak English I highly recommend him as your tour operator and guide.
We just returned from our “adventure trip” to Rwanda and Uganda, which we enjoyed a lot. Thanks a lot to Robert from Albertine Tours. He planned the trip perfectly. First we experienced a safari and a boat ride at Queen Elisabeth National Park in Uganda – very close to elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, water buffalos and many other wild animals.
Back in Rwanda we drove from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park. There we trekked Chimpanzees and Colobus monkeys. We also made a hike to the breathtaking waterfall in the park. On the way to the Volcanoes National Park we learned more about the country’s history while we visited the King’s Palace, National Museum and a genocide memorial place. The highlight of our holidays was certainly the time we spent with the mountain gorillas (a family of 18, from babies to the silverback) at the Volcanos. Robert guided us all the time and drove us safely through beautiful Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills, with tea and coffee estates and rice and banana fields.
It was certainly a very special trip for us. We were always surrounded by friendly and helpful people, even though most of them live very different lives than we do in Europe. But having been to Rwanda 5 years earlier, I am glad to see that the country has progressed a lot since then. We were lucky to stay in good hotels and comfortable lodges, especially Nyungwe Forest Lodge was an amazing place to stay. Back home in Vienna Austria we share our memories and photos with our families and friends and bring the African spirit in our life.
